Jack Black is at his comic best as Ignacio, a disrespected cook at a Mexican monastery that can barely afford to feed the orphans who live there. Inspired by a local wrestling hero, he decides to moonlight as the not-so-famous Luchador "Nacho Libre" to earn money for the monastery - not to mention the admiration of beautiful nun Sister Encarnacion.

This movie does not have one redeeming feature in it. Never seen such a bad put together thing. I can't believe that a group of creative people actually got together on this and thought it was a good idea?! Please do not waste your time trying to watch this.Well, I'm not surprised... - DeRat
It took me a while to zip this and another while to get it and I wasn't in a hurry... I like Jack Black, as I do think he has a bit of comic genius in him but sometimes he takes a path that I simply have troubles following and I thought this may be one of those movies... I was right... it took me three separate attempts to watch this film fully, and I kept thinking it had potential for big laughs but in the end it just kind of felt like it never really found its place - I think there is a sense of humor behind this film that will connect with some people, I'm just not one of them... it's weird, normally I would shred a movie that took me three attempts to watch... but there's something about this film that I think some people will get... I sometimes wonder if Jack Black is this generations Andy Kaufman... maybe that is just giving him to much credit... but Andy was not really understood until after he was dead and suddenly he was a comedic genius... this movie is definitely the work of Jared Hess as it totally reminded me of a Mexican Napoleon's Dynamite, but it didn't make me laugh as much and certainly didn't have a gut busting ROFLOL scene like the farmer shooting the cow right when a school bus is there...
If you love Jack, and have run out of things to zip, you may want to try this or if you like seeing things that are unique... but otherwise probably one you can skip.Nacho Libre - Jo9-
I expected this movie to be cheesy, but come on! It seemed like a Saturday Night Live skit that went on for an hour and a half too long. I couldn't even make it to the end of the movie. Don't waste your time on this one. It's time that you can never get back!!
