Congorama
Featured at the Director's Fortnight at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival.
Michel, son of a paralyzed writer, husband to a Congolese refugee, and father of a future tennis champion, is an erratic Belgian inventor who is misunderstood by his employer. At age 41, he learns that he was adopted and was in fact birthed secretly in a Quebec barn in Sainte-Cecile.
In the summer of 2000, Michel goes to Sainte-Cecile, a sleepy village that soon makes him want to run back home. There, he meets a man who drives an anachronistic hybrid car. On their way back to Montreal, an accident will change their lives forever as well as the very future of the automotive industry.

worth the wait - Bibs
the movie is one that I wanted to turn off several times, as just too weird to make sense. however, i give the writer's credit - it has a nice twist that made the ending worth the wait. similar to many other Quebecoise movies, it has a cutting wit and approach to humour that may not be for everyone, but for me it was definitely funny and entertaining.Congorama - AppsScraps
Olivier Gourmet stars as a Belgian inventor with not much skill, Michel Roy, who lives his life in the limelight of his successful father, the author Herve Roy (Jean-Pierre Cassel). Michel is married to a Congoese refugee Alice (Claudia Tagbo) and has a budding tennis star of a son, Jules (Arnaud Mouithys). One day his father confesses he was adopted from a family in a small Quebec town called Sainte-Cecile. Fascinated by this, Michel travels to Quebec to pitch an invention and seek his roots. In Sainte-Cecile he meets Louis Legros, the son of an inventor of hybrid autos, and when their paths cross after an accident the real story of Congorama takes flight. Directed by Philippe Faladreau, Congorama twists a comic tale of fate and family as only the Quebecois can conceive. A wonderful little gem of a film that tells a cautionary tale of the importance of honesty.
My rating 7 out of 10.Très bon - Poet
