It wasn't terrible terrible but for sure not the same quality as the series. The one thing that really irked me was they completely changed Lex. He looks the same from the series (along with everyone else) but they made him into some goofy character. Not Lex at all. Don't feel bad if you skip this one.Disappointing to the say the least - Sunscream
This made-for-dvd film was almost unwatchable. The move from the continuity of the Superman/Justice League story lines and the inclusion of new voice actors really put me off.
I am unsure if the regular actors couldn't do it or not, but perhaps it was because the horrible storyline. Cory Burton is missed terribly as Braniac; his cold delivery of the lines of this villain in the series were fantastic. Lance Henriksen just doesn't cut the mustard here at all(Brainiac Laughs!!). Nor does Powers Boothe as Lex Luthor, who is played in this movie as a buffoon trying to get his pic and name in the paper for positive publicity. Clancy Brown did a much better job portraying Lex as the cunning villain who drips elegance and sarcasm.
I thought I would be able to over-look the poor plot, but sadly the voice acting really made me not like this film - at all. I'd rather watch Max Fleischer shorts of the big blue guy than this dribble. That being said, I always have to remind myself, these films are designed for kids; however, I still would have hated it if I when I child.Brainiac Attacks is whack... - Diceman
Jack. This straight-to-DVD production was bad. It copies the Batman, Superman, Justice League look but lacks all of the elements of the incredible storytelling of those series. Even worse, those series contained an element of ongoing continuity and I'll be darned if I can figure out where this is supposed to fit into all of it. The voice acting is awful, Lex is notably whiny and adolescent, not the cold calculating arch-nemesis of Superman he should be. Brainiac is serviceable, but Corey Burton's original voice is much better than this. The only redeeming aspect of the film is amping up the relationship between Lois and Clark, and even then the writers are too chicken to mess with the continuity too much. This is an obvious money grab that sullies Warner animation's good name. Burn it.
