Monster House
There goes the neighbourhood.
DJ knew there was something strange about the old Nebbercracker house. When the house becomes a living, breathing monster, DJ enlists his pals Chowder and Jenny to learn the secret that keeps the house alive. Suddenly, they find themselves in a battle with an unstoppable entity and must save the neighbourhood from devastation. Robert Zemeckis (The Polar Express, Back to the Future) and Steven Spielberg (ET, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones Trilogy) present Monster House, the movie FOX-TV's Shawn Edwards hails as "The best animated feature of the year! It's so much fun you'll want to watch it again and again!"

This is a very fun adventure horror film. The dialogue between characters is very funny. I wouldn't watch this with young children but the movie is enjoyable for older kids and adults. The one thing that I need to criticize is the use of motion capture on the characters. The scenery and objects are all animated nicely, but the movie used motion capture tecniques on the characters and it doesn't look good. The frame rate on them looks slow, almost to the point of stop frame. The expressions on the faces aren't very clear and every person in the film has hair that looks like a helmet and doesn't move. This is a great movie to see, but some of the visuals dissapoint.Great Fun - 0930tracey
I rarely sit down and watch an animated movie start to finish with my kids, but I actually did with this one. The characters were hilarious and the story was good. It can get a little frightening for the really young, however. I really loved the babysitter (Maggie Gyllenhaal) with her sarcasism and her drip of a boyfriend. The crusty old man has a hidden secret, which makes you feel for him in the end. We pull this one out every halloween!! A must see.Great movie - surprisingly dark - Spacey
I really enjoyed this movie and found it to be darker than I had though of a children's movie. It's great during Halloween and really make you think about treating everyone as one would wish to be treated, and when this doesn't happen what it can drive people to do.
I enjoyed the comic relief in the movie, and found that it added to the underlying story about children and the desire to be heard and listened to.
