The Sisters
Every Family has its secrets.
The Sisters is suggested by Anton Chekhov's renowned play, The Three Sisters. The film tells the story of familial deception and ultimate revelation amongst three sisters, exploring their ups and downs as well as the ties that bind them despite their dysfunctional family dynamics. Featuring a sensational cast, including 2006 Golden Globe nominee Maria Bello, The Sisters spins an extraordinary tale of love, lust, deceit, and loss.

This movie let you into a world of shame and lies and secrets. Maria Bellos character was by far the best with her raw emotion and anger. She had me feeling her pain. Olga the oldest was emotionally closed off, the youngest "baby" had been protected far to long by her overbearing sisters who only tried to have her best interest at heart. Overall a very good movie that had you thinking about the dynamics in thier lives and how each characters action reflected on another. i would recommend this movieA disservice to Chekhov - rgwillie
This filmed version of a stage adaptation of a Chekhov short story is filled with repellent characters and scenery-chewing by most of the cast. The dialogue is much more literal than conversational, with each smug and verbose line snapped out in a never-ending game of oral one-upmanship. The viewer is left to wonder why on Earth these people, who obviously harbour intense dislike for each other would waste their time in each other's company, and why we would want to do so either. Elizabeth Banks probably does the best job of all the players with this weak material.THE BELLO SHOW - Ricardo
First of all, the movie is superb in character development and depth. Having said that, like the original book, it really has no other purpose than to tell a story about 3 sisters, without a real beginning or an end, and that, in modern-day movies is just not acceptable. If you finish watching a movie feeling that the last 10 minutes got eaten by the DVD machine, you do not feel satisfied.
The one thing that stood out for me in the movie as exceptionally good was the acting by Maria Bello. She really had me convinced she was a real person and not just an actor playing a part.
