After watching this film my first thought was “I must warn the others.” Even if you’re a mild fan then you already know more about the Stones than this movie reveals. And if know nothing about the subject matter then you’ll just end up feeling frustrated and confused – because you have to know something about Brian Jones to be even remotely engaged in this dizzy, confused, movie-of-the-week Mise en scène. There’s lots of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll – none of which is by the Stones or Jones. There are lots of hints of the happenings in his life conveyed through a series of faux-psychedelic cut scenes delivering a dump montage of ‘landmark’ events, which Jones and Stones fans would recognize but none of the events are ever returned to in flashbacks or flash-forwards. The real sting is that what’s hinted at in the quick cuts looks far more interesting that what where given in the completely predictable story. This accident of a film should have been left floating face down in a pool. You might as well be if you're going to sit through this. - MovieMantos
As a huge Rolling Stones fan I was looking forward to seeing this film about the last days of Brian Jones, But it didn't deliver any insight into the man or the music. I felt no empathy for any of the characters. BJ and the people surrounding him are portrayed as empty vessels that sex (and plenty of it) and drugs fill up, use up and spit out. The ending is obvious, but the journey to get to it was pointless and dreadfully long. Oh, and you'd think they'd have more than one Stones song in the flick.
