Pirate. Rogue. Adventurer.
In the Golden Age of Piracy, at the dawn of the 18th century, Blackbeard stood out among the lawless rogues as the most fearsome and notorious seafarer of them all. He killed for the reputation, and his reputation has become legend. Now, for the first time, comes the true story of pirate Edward Teach, the man who terrorized the seas.

Angus Macfadyen is the only interesting aspect of this dull, dull film. Anyone looking for a movie about pirates is advised to look elsewhere... for some reason Blackbeard, his crew, and his exploits are put in second place after the Harlequinish romance between the British good guy and the governor's daughter.Fun. - TheHags
While it certainly is not a Michael Bay production, the series is nevertheless a fun one. Sure, the acting is iffy and wooden, but so is 98% of what is on television. It's not a historical piece of fact by any stretch, but it is was family time well spent together.Entertaining - Hillenshamm
If you watch this looking for a historical documentary, you're going to be disappointed. Historicity is not the focus here, but rather storytelling, and Blackbeard: the Complete Mini-series certainly succeeds there. Whip up an extra large batch of pop-corn and prepare to be entertained, not educated.
