Beerfest
Bring on the beer. They've got the nuts.
When American brothers Todd and Jan Wolfhouse travel to Germany to spread their grandfather’s ashes at Oktoberfest, they stumble upon a super-secret, centuries old, underground beer games competition—“Beerfest,” the secret Olympics of beer drinking.
The brothers receive a less than warm welcome from their German cousins, the Von Wolfhausens, who humiliate Todd and Jan, slander their relatives, and finally cast them out of the event. Vowing to return in a year to defend their country and their family’s honor, The Wolfhouse boys assemble a ragtag dream team of beer drinkers and gamers: Barry Badrinath, the consummate skills player with a dark past; Phil Krundle (a.k.a. Landfill), a one-man chugging machine; and Steve "Fink" Finklestein, the lab tech with a PhD in All Things Beer.
This Magnificent Five train relentlessly, using their hearts, minds and livers to drink faster, smarter and harder than they ever have before. But first they must battle their own demons... as well as a bunch of big, blond, German jerks who want to destroy the team before they can even make it back to Munich.
Revenge, like beer, is best served cold.

Beerfest is brought to us by the same Broken Lizard comedy group that brought us Super Troopers. I think it's comedy genius. It's stupid, over the top, but there is lots of comedy gold in there. I loved scenes such as, without spoiling much, where a character is re-introduced and who doesn't love German accents. This kind of comedy definitely isn't for everyone, but it totally worked for me.Funny Stupid - FilmJunkie
Broken Lizard has a certain style about them to be sure. A bunch of dudes doing ridiculous things to try and see breasts while improving their friendships.
This movie is much better than 'Club Dread', their last venture, but it does not quite live up to their masterpiece 'Super Troopers'.
This movie is about two brothers who go to Germany to fulfill the final wishes of their dead grandfather (Donald Sutherland) and soon discover their long lost cousins and the underground version of Oktoberfest: Beerfest.
They gather their friends and train to try and win the greatest beer championship in the world.
The movie is full of drinking, so much fucking drinking, and a lot of funny dude humour. The Beerfest competition itself is awesomely creative and the work by Will Forte and Eric Christian Olsen as two of the German team is classic.
A funny stupid movie better than most in that category.BeerFest - bubbly_g
Well this one was a no brainer...you kinda figured out what would happen in the beginning of the movie. But with the comedy in between to carry it, I think that there is a demographic out there that will really apreciate this film. I do not even drink beer and I was intrigued to be a part of the games. Looks like it could be fun...just sucks that Canada is the reigning champions and in order to make the movie the Americans had to be called in. WE WOULD STOMP ALL OVER THEM...lol.
