Adam & Steve
The tempting new comedy from the producers of "Latter Days".
Raucously funny and sweetly romantic, Adam & Steve is a twisted, tender comedy that would surely make "John Waters cackle with glee" (L.A. Weekly). In the 1980s, Adam (Craig Chester, Kiss me Guido, Grief, Swoon) and Steve (Malcolm Gets, TV’s Caroline in the City) had a horrifically embarrassing one night stand. When they meet again years later, they fail to recognize each other and fall in love – as do their wisecracking best friends (Parker Posey, Superman Returns, Best in Show and Chris Kattan, TV’s Saturday Night Live). Honest, irreverent and a whole lot of fun, Adam & Steve is all about making love work – whatever the odds.

Very cute movie! - Cricri7
I zipped Adam and Steve because of Malcolm Gets. I loved him in Caroline in the city so I decided to give this movie a try and I am sure glad I did because I liked it very much. Craig Chester, who plays the other half of the romance, wrote and directed the movie. He is an excellent actor also. They make a very believable couple and also very likable.
There are excellent one liners in this movie...I especially loved the one that goes:"I am sweating like Whitney Houston going through customs"! Malcolm Gets was the king of one liners in Caroline in the city. It is a shame we don't see him more on the small and big screen, he appears more on Broadway than anywhere else.Great feel good movie! - Rai11
This movie is a great little sweet romantic comedy. It just makes me happy every time I watch it! It is a super cute story that manages to deal with some serious issues (homophobia particularly) in a really funny way.
While it is true that there are some cheesey subplots (I could have done without the bit about Adam's family being luck-challenged) and groan worthy moments, I found the two leads characters incredibly likable and was very invested in them living happily ever after. There was just a real sense of affection and I felt that Craig Chester and Malcom Gets had super chemistry. And Parker Posey also gives a great performance as Adam's best friend.I liked this movie! - GayHedonist
Okay, nobody else that wrote a review seemed to enjoy this movie, but I liked it.
Maybe you had to be gay and goth during the 80's, and hang out with overweight goth girls (although that time period is just the opening scenes); and maybe you have to LOVE Parker Posey; and maybe you have to have a dark sense of humour and think things like someone running to the hospital in their underwear after accidentally stabbing their dog is funny (not in REAL life, of course); and maybe then you will enjoy this movie as much as I did.
