Edmond
A wickedly surprising thriller.
A dark, picaresque tale of an everyman (William H. Macy) who, after realizing his life is boring and meaningless, leaves it all to embark on his own quest for truth and fulfillment. He becomes trapped in a twisted game of sex, lies, and murder. It's a first rate thriller that will keep you guessing and climaxes with a surprise ending that will blow you away!

I try to avoid reviewing any middle of the road 3-4 star movie, but I feel compelled to once in awhile rave about a really good movie, or warn people of stinkers. Edmond falls into the latter.
The lead line of plot twists and surprise ending, plus Bill Macy & Julia Stiles (not in it much)gave this some potential, but like one review said, if it's a surprise ending, I didn't see it, and the trip there borders on stupid and/or pointless. The only reason I didn't give it 1 star, is that's reserved for brutal/awful. This one wasn't that bad, but your list of movies would have to be pretty dried up to want to get to this one. You've been warned.Taxi Driver Meets After Hours - JasonTHX
I was getting a very serious Travis Bickle vibe from Edmond. In some scenes he seemed almost childlike to me, mostly when he was constantly arguing over money with the stripper and hooker. It also seems odd that out of everyone he encountered, the most meaningful connection he found with someone was his prison-mate. I guess it makes sense. He spent the whole film searching for a connection from someone, He wasn't feeling it with his wife, with the strippers, the prostitutes, (his line to Bai ling that he couldn't touch her was telling of this), the waitress who he - well we know what he did to her, the lady on the subway, even the police. I guess he found his connection in the one place he'd never thought he'd find it.
Also Dylan Walsh reminded me of the guy who interrogated Leon at the beginning of Blade Runner, especially the way he held his cigarette.heavy and dark - cornhole
Well, I can't say this flick is everyone, but I do think it's worth a watch. A lot of the reviews complain about the violence, which was less than I was expecting, although necessary I think. Macey was amazing. I truly believed him, and quite a twist to the ending - awesome. If you are into disney movies, then you are not going to like this, but if you dare, try viewing a movie with a little more edge, and not afraid to dwell into the dark side of the human psyche, then I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
