Amazing - suss2it
This movie is amazing. It was a very emotional movie, which I should have expected given the opening. This is highly recommended for anyone who likes animation as well as a good story with a lot of heart to it. I'm not sure what else Disney did in the 80's but I'm willing to bet that this is one of their best movies of that time period.Classic Disney, Classic Movie - EllieAndrews
I remember trying hard to bawl silently the first time I watched this – I was 12 and way too old for that, I thought. Twenty-six years later it still makes me cry. The animation was top-notch in its day and still stands up extremely well: some of the art is so well done that my artist partner turned to me and said, “take that, CGI”. The story itself is somewhat familiar, and bittersweet. The innocence of the two youthful main characters as they refuse to discriminate against each other still has something to teach us.
One of the songs in the film sums it up quite nicely: “You're not even aware, you're such a funny pair . . . If only the world wouldn't get in the way”.

Yet another Disney movie from my teen years. This movie was great when it came out 25 years ago and is just as good now, with better sound and picture quality. I love the hound and ended up owning three of my own. These are the Disney movies that I want my kids growing up to and my grand kids. They were such fun to watch even as a teen.
