Save the Last Dance 2
The best move... is following your heart.
In this sequel to the 2001 hit, Sara Johnson (Izabella Miko) is now attending Julliard where she is studying to become a professional dancer. Her teacher, Monique Delacroix (Jacqueline Bisset), pushes her to do her best while a visiting lecturer forces her to reconsider her dream.

This sequel is definitely not as good as the first one. I love dance movies, and I did enjoy the dancing parts. However, it took me and a friend about 40 minutes to figure out that the main character was the same as the first movie. It is not all that clear in the beginning wheter it is a new story or the continuation of the first one.
There are a few funny parts and the characters are interesting. However, the story line is not great and I didn't like the ending...I agree that it isn't really a sequel - imagination201
However, it's a good dance movie on its own. That said, I really didn't recognize the Sara character from the first movie, they didn't bring any other character back (which is a shame), and the new characters are not all interesting. The new male lead is, but other than that...
That said, though, if you like dance movies, then you might still enjoy this one. The choreographies are interesting, the last number is really good, and the music is good. The romance isn't so bad either. Not really a sequel - jurassicmark
Well, my wife adored ' SAVE THE LAST DANCE' so thought we would rent the second one. The only thing is, it isn't really a sequel. There are no references to the characters in the first movie. It's really pretty much the same movie in a different circumstance.
Having said that.
I hate to admit it, I liked it. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. There is some terrific dancing in it. If you are a dancer, there is definitely stuff you want to rip off in here.
Check it out. Not gonna win an Oscar, but it'll keep your toes tappin.
