A lightweight script, lightweight acting and sadly transparent character motivations make for tedious viewing. There’s nothing here that couldn’t have been fixed with a decent rewrite and some talented performers, and everyone involve must have noticed the mediocrity of the whole project when they watched the rough cuts at day’s end. There’s no excuse for putting out something so solidly second-rate.

Not bad, not great - GFHunter

This film was interesting from a number of perspectives but primarily from its open and, I think at least, honest look at gay relationships and the gay community. At its heart though it is a murder mystery.
The plot stretches my ability to suspend my disbelief a bit however. The hook isn't a new one but in this case, it could have worked better.
I thought the acting was good and the characters were believable but to expect the audience to buy into Vancouver pretending to be Albany, New York was a stretch. It just didn't work and was unnecessary. Those mountains sure weren't in any Appalachian chain and Vancouver harbour doesn't look a great deal like the Hudson River.

GOOD MOVIE OF THE WEEK FOR THE GAY CHANNEL - Ricardo

This movie was not bad..., it just wasn't good. There really is nothing that can be severely criticized but there is also nothing that stands out. The one thing I DID find appealing about the movie was that it was a mediocre detective movie but they managed to make the detective gay without concentrating on that. True, there were shots at the anti-gay establishment but somehow the movie never became a "gay" movie and remained a "mystery."
