Abominable
Some things are better left unfound.
It has been sighted 42,000 times in 68 countries, a vicious creature of myth and legend called Sasquatch, Yeti, and perhaps most infamously, Bigfoot. We've hunted it for years. But what happens when it decides to hunt us? For newly paraplegic mountain climber Preston Rogers (Matt McCoy), the horror hits home when this ravenous beast attacks a remote forest community. Will its next hot meal be a group of knucklehead hunters (including Lance Henriksen of Aliens & Jeffrey Combs of Re-Animator), a skeptical police chief (Paul Gleason of Die Hard), a cabin full of nubile co-eds (including Ashley Hartman of The O.C.), or a trapped Preston himself? Rex Linn (CSI: Miami) and Dee Wallace-Stone (Cujo) co-star in this wild and gruesome horror shocker that Fangoria calls "the best serious fright film ever made about Bigfoot!"

Quick and Painless Monster Fun - Jirataur
ABOMINABLE is an entertaining, competently made creature feature that, although nothing special, is still a step above the average DTV horror flick. With its character-driven style and 94-minute run time, it might seem like it would be painfully long and boring, but it goes by very quickly and although the first half is rather boring the last forty or so minutes deliver the goods.
The acting, directing, and writing are fairly decent, although the monster itself looks kind of silly with its bugged-out eyes. In fact the monster is really quite cheesy, but I'l take a guy in a Halloween costume over a PS2 game escapee any day; at least you can laugh at practical effects when they look fake. When CGI is bad, it just looks bad and induces groans rather than laughter.
ABOMINABLE is a good time for creature feature enthusiasts. It isn't anything great or ground-breaking, its really just REAR WINDOW with Bigfoot, but its still worth checking out at least once.don't expect - billyjack
The story, characters, and acting are nothing special, but you shouldn't expect a lot from these going in. This movie's much more B movie fun - a little nudity, some bad dialogue, and pretty good gore. A lot of the kills in this are good, a few are pretty inventive and funny, though I won't give any of them away. the design for the monster is laughably bad, but that also makes it more enjoyable. It looks kinda like an angry gnome, pretty classic. recommended for B horror enthusiasts.abominably bad... - Sean5
Okay, so my review title isn't very original. But then again, I'm not asking anyone to pay to read it, unlike this movie "Abominable" which is devoid of any originality whatsoever. It sets out to be an homage to 80's B-movie horror flicks, but ends up being so vacuous and uninspired that it's closer to a D-movie than a B-movie. Don't get me wrong--I like a good cheesy scare-fest. This isn't one.
I couldn't figure out why the movie was made, the script was so bad. I couldn't figure out why Lance Henriksen is in the movie either (he's a great actor). What would possibly possess him to say yes to the film? What would possibly possess any financier to invest in this senseless waste of film stock. So I watched the first-time filmmaker's short student film--his only other production experience prior to Abominable. Maybe it was inspired and amazing. Not. The 16mm black and white short film is so ham-handed I was even more baffled. The filmmaker did manage to get his hands on a very shiny new Rolls Royce for his student shoot, however. And this got me wondering... I mean most filmmakers can barely scrape together the money for carrot sticks for the crew let alone the money for a Rolls Royce rental. A little more investigation reveals that the very competent score for Abominable is by none other than Lalo Schifrin--nominated for 6 Oscars and a few Grammy's. The guy's a Hollywood heavyweight. And the guy is the director's dad! The penny drops. Check the producer credits--all Schifrins. The Rolls? That's dad's car. The financing? Surely dad's money. Hey, I can probably get Lance Henriksen in my movie too...for a cool million bucks in cash so he can buy another condo in Maui. I'm only being so harsh because if you're gonna make a movie and put it out there for people to rent or buy, you have to be prepared to make the consumer's purchase worthwhile. I don't own a Rolls and my dad doesn't either. After watching most of Abominable, I want my money back. I hope the directo
