ATF agent Doug Carlin finds himself dogged by feelings of déjà vu -- that powerful but fleeting sense that you've been someplace, or met someone, before, as he investigates a bombing on a New Orleans ferry. Should he shrug off the unsettling sensation, or can it help him unravel the clues he needs to save hundreds of innocent people from disaster? James Caviezel and Val Kilmer co-star in this thriller directed by Tony Scott.even better the second time! - runaway
Usually with films that involved twists and mystery, once you know the plot, there is less intrigue after multiple viewings. This film was richer the second time around. Denzel is Denzel but he was strongly supported but relative newbie Paula Patton and a host of strong character actors. A very enjoyable story with thought provoking themes sticking out amongst the sci-fi tinged action.Suspend your belief in reality and this is entertaining - MovieBug
The underlying premise of this movie with regard to time and space is pretty far-fetched. And another 'secret government project' type of conspiracy subplot is a little tiresome - as is the thought that, if such a project existed, they would allow an ATF agent to experiment with it.
But if you put that aside, the movie is quite entertaining. Washington does a reasonable job, as do most of the other characters. And the concept of affecting events in time to deliver different outcomes is always compelling.
