Charlotte's Web
Fern (Dakota Fanning) is one of only two living beings who sees that Wilbur is a special animal as she raises him, the runt of the litter, into a terrific and radiant pig. As Wilbur moves into a new barn, he begins a second profound friendship with the most unlikely of creatures – a spider named Charlotte – and their bond inspires the animals around them to come together as a family. When the word gets out that Wilbur’s days are numbered, it seems that only a miracle will save his life. A determined Charlotte – who sees miracles in the ordinary – spins words into her web in an effort to convince the farmer that Wilbur is "some pig" and worth saving.
Based on the classic children's novel by E.B. White.

This is an excellent adaptation of the story everybody knows. It is newer and fresher but the story, and characters (animal and people) stay very true to the plot of the original book. My family really enjoyed watching this again and I will look for this one to own. The humour in the animals is wonderful! As well Dakota Fanning played another terrific role! A must see!Well done - ronburgundy
This story was due to be retold as a movie and was well done. My young kids were glued to the screen which says a lot since they have little interest for TV. I'm happy they stayed pretty close to the original story. Lots of good life lessons to be learned with this one. Many animated films are full of violence inappropriate for young children. We loved Steve Buscemi as the egotistic rat Templeton.Excellent - HIMandHER
This is possibly the saddest film i have ever seen. However don"t let the possiblity of tear stained popcorn get in your way of seeing this movie.
The casting is excellent the script is well written (It never crosses your mind that these animals wouldnt be talking to one another with moving mouths or that spiders are not known for there ablity to spell)and the film in genral is well woth watching. It's entetaining and not sentimental.
Haveing never seen the original or read the book. What can i say i'm a philistine. I didnt know what to excpect. I am now tempted to read the book, I cant see it being much better, high praise indeed for a film.
If your looking for a film that is for children but not childish then this is the movie for you. If your looking for a film that wont be like any other modern DVD you can watch wih your kids then this is the movie for you. If your looking for a movie that will make you cry over a bloody spider this is the movie or you.
It should be pointed out that this whole reveiw is the work of Him and not Her, I am told i have the spelling grammer and lack of english skills that you'd exspect from a demented immigernt on there first day in a new country and that her is not wanting to be tarred with the same brush. She be a good spell-a and such.
