A Caribbean Mystery
Aging Major Palgrave, an idiosyncratic but charming mystery writer, reveals to Miss Marple that one of the guests at a luxurious Caribbean resort they're staying at is a Bluebeard-type wife murderer. Unfortunately, the Major succumbs to an apparently accidental overdose of alcohol and blood pressure medication before revealing the killer's identity. When it's discovered that the medicine belonged to another guest and the revealing photograph the Major was carrying is missing, Miss Marple realizes that the serial killer has struck again and more murders will follow.

Helen Hayes is a wonderful Marple! - Bumblebee
Helen Hayes is Jane Marple! She possesses charm, wit and grace on screen as Agatha Christie's feminine sleuth. The screenplay of this Marple mystery is not the best interpretation possible however it is an easy-going film if you are a Christie fan.
I wish Hayes had appeared in more Marple mysteries!Caribbean Mystery - Terri
This was a wee bit of a disapointment for someone who loves Agatha Christie brought to the screen..the addition of a Hardy Boy was less than expected, and the characters were quite removed from the original form. It struck me as a sunday evening romp from the 80's....brings back memories, but not such fond ones. Kind of like Murder on the Orient Express with Lauren Bacall, just a bit more pedantic. Felt like "Love Boat does Christie" ("yah just gotta see it"...budumbum). An americanized Marple?? How does one sleep with oneself???Agatha again! - Woody2
Not the best Agatha Christie- the American accent just doesn't do it for me! This is too stylised, too Hollywood and too perfect. Miss Marple was much more at home in grittier situations. However, it is very easy on the eye, and relaxing to watch. Good for a Sunday afternoon rainy curl-up!
