F**K: A Documentary
Unrated
From the Studio That Brought You "The Aristocrats"
A definitive look at the infamous expletive, F**K explores how this oft-used word, still widely seen as obscene, somehow permeates every aspect of our culture - from Hollywood, to the schoolyard, to the Senate floor in Washington D.C., where it is at the very center of the ongoing debate on Free Speech. F**K examines the word's impact through various interviews, film and television clips, and original animation by Oscar-nominee Bill Plympton. Scholars and linguists examine its long and colorful history; comedians, actors, and writers who have charted and popularized the word defend their Constitutional right to use it. Even people who do "it" for a living are interviewed, all in an effort to discover what it is about this one syllable that both unites and polarizes people.

I was expecting the Aristocrats, but was sadly disappointed by F**K. Not funny enough for comedy and too "jaunty" for a serious documentary. The animations were childish and added nothing to the film. And how do I take a documentary of the word "F**k" seriously when there was no mention of the (Canadian) "Fuddle Duddle" nor the infamous Monty Python's "I don't care how f**king runny it is!"? Not a great deal of effort here.Weak "documentary". - KeithTalent
A doc looking at the word 'f**k' and its origins, place in society, and peoples opinions and usage of the word. I was hoping for something much more interesting and funny, but this just ended up feeling like one of those annoying VH1/MTV shows where they show celebrities/comedians commenting on videos and others things. Disappointing.Passable Documentary - JMac
Really just a mishmash of people's opinions on the word F**K, this documentary doesn't really offer up anything new on the subject. Celebrity appearances are irrelevant. The animated segments are uneven, but cumulatively make the film seem like a bastardized Sesame Street special. Barely recommended.
