Breakfast at Tiffany's
From the opening strains of Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer's haunting Oscar-winning song "Moon River," you’ll once again be under the alluring spell of that madcap, carefree New York playgirl known as Holly Golighty (Audrey Hepburn) in this 24-carat romantic comedy based on Truman Capote's best-selling novella. George Peppard is the struggling and "sponsored" young writer who finds himself swept into Holly's dizzying, delightfully unstructured lifestyle as she determinedly scours Manhattan for a suitable millionaire to marry. The sparkling special features on this Anniversary Edition DVD only add to the luster of director Black Edwards' timeless film classic. Patricia Neal, Buddy Ebsen, Martin Balsam and Mickey Rooney co-star: Mancini won an additional Academy Award for his enthralling musical score.

1960's take on social rockstardom - LawTalkingGuy
Audrey Hepburn is such a classy lady, and this film really shows that. Her acting ability is portrayed incredibly well, however the story is a bit odd - woman with no money living the life of Riley in NY meets poor writer and falls in love - eventually.
I have to say despite the fact the film was a bit slow at points - it did a decent job of keeping my attention. For me, it was interesting to see how men of the 1960's imagined a single woman living a rock star lifestyle would live in New York.
Some say this is a romantic comedy. To be frank, I really did not find it all that funny. It was more a of romantic drama if you ask me - though it points the movie was just befuddling.
Still, if you are looking for a Hepburn classic and interesting take on the life of a troubled single woman then you'll enjoy this flick.Breakfast at Tiffany's - djfunkybob
Despite some egregious faults, this is a lasting and appealing film thanks to none other than its star A. Hepburn. I can’t imagine another actress at that time having an audience root for the happiness of a thoughtless, selfish, drunken escort. Peppard is also very good in his only significant role in a long movie career. The two stars combine with captivating chemistry. The movie is unfortunately a very loose adaptation of Capote’s novella. American cinema was unable to handle Capote’s Holly Golightly in 1961 and much of the story was toned down for wider audience acceptance. I hope it never happens, but imagine if the movie was adapted today in a society where hookers and alcoholism are far less taboo. The film is also forever marred by casting Rooney as Holly’s Japanese neighbour – no enduring classic has this large of a blemish.Classical and beautiful - rlivne
Definitely is one of those movies you should see before die. Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard are absolutly lovely in this story specially if you consider that Audrey wasnt supposed to be casted to do it. Instead, Marilyn Monroe was the dream actress to play this lovely role.
But, Im a huge fan of Ms. Hepburn and she was unbelievable wonderful as Holly Golightly, a young woman always on the run from herself. Lacking a stable childhood, she marries at the age of fourteen, has the marriage annulled, moves to Hollywood to start a film career, leaves Hollywood for New York.
You should pay attention in special details such as Wisp-thin Hepburn as Holly, carrying a cigarette holder, is considered one of the iconic images of 20th century American cinema. And one of the most beautiful songs in the cinema, "Moon River", by Henry Mancini.
