Until Death
When a second chance is given... lives will be taken.
Jean-Claude Van Damme stars in this bone-chilling, action-packed thriller as Anthony Lowe, a down-and-out detective who is addicted to heroin and whose day always seems to go from bad to worse. Lowe is coming off of a drug deal in which two officers were killed and the primary villain, the drugs, the money, and the surveillance tapes are still at large. Now he wants revenge!

I used to be a VanDamme fan, so I was expecting a lot from this actor. Unfortunately the movie fizzed out only after a few minutes into the film. I thought it was a very grimy, depressing movie, and not something I really wanted to see during a week night, never mind for a weekend. I did like to see what VanDamme looked like as of 2007. So be warned in renting this DVD.JC's Best Dramatic Performance Yet - bwod
Forget the karate-kicking Jean Claude Van Damme of yesteryear. In "Until Death", a more mature action star moves more to the dramatic side of the business and actually comes up smelling like roses. Sure, he's still capable of taking out anyone he wants to, and he does, but the weapon of choice has become the gun, as opposed to the fist, or foot.
"Until Death" is a straight-to-video dvd, and merits a closer look if you enjoy the cops and robbers plotline, with plenty of action and blood. If you are a fan of J.C., this is an entertaining B-movie. I give it one firm thumb up.Jean-Claude-Side-Burns - CaptainRhodes
Van Damme's Sideburns alone are worth a viewing of this otherwise mediocre film. I can't recall but I'm pretty sure Van Damme didn't even throw one kick to anyone's head in this which gets me down. On the up side of this otherwise mediocre review, his acting has improved over the years. He pulls off what needs to be done here and I appreciate the effort on his part. Not his best, not his worst. you decide. I'm a fan and I'll always be so perhaps I'm biased, but I say give it a shot. You just might like it.
