You and Your Stupid Mate
Friends for life. Stupid forever.
Australian cinema creates two of the stupidest – and funniest – characters ever in this off-the-wall comedy about Jeffrey (Angus Sampson) and Philip (Nathan Phillips), two best friends ("mates") who have carved out the perfect life for themselves. They collect unemployment and spend their days ogling the most beautiful girl at their trailer park (Rachel Hunter) and watching their favourite soap opera. But one day, the government forces them to work for their unemployment, their favourite show is cancelled and they learn a highway will be built right through the park where they live. It’s time for two of the dumbest people on the planet to take matters into their own hands!

Honestly if you decide to rent this movie please make it a conscious decision to completely and utterly WASTE 94 min. of your precious time. This is definitely 94 min. of your life that you will never get back and SO wish that you could.
I was ready at the start for some ridiculous comedy and probably a lot of bathroom humour being that the two leads are young males. What I got was a movie with almost no point to it at all. I can't recall laughing even once at this film. They try to incorporate the trailer park into the film anf fail miserably at it. They try to show a character who wants nothing more than to "save" the love of his life and it turns out quite pitifully. Last but not least they decide to try to tackle the age old positive thinking, believing in and loving yourself can conquer all adage but the way it was portrayed was complete and utter garbage.
I strongly implore you if you have never seen a film from Australia and thought you would explore something new with this film use the 94 min. that you would have spent on this film watching paint dry it will leave you feeling more entertained, inspired and with a deeper understanding of life than this movie ever could.
