Boxes
French singer and actress Jane Birkin tells the story of the life of a family, in her film Boxes. This full-length feature film is strongly inspired by her own families history, and is a project Birken has been developing for the last ten years. The film explores past father-daughter relationships and the notion of memory reflected through the character Anne. Anne who is in the process of moving into a new home after spending the last fifty years in Brittany, a city on the edge of the sea. As Anne unpacks the "boxes" of her life, she reflects on the memories of her parents and children. Anna had three girls, each one of a different father. Her three men are there and, like the parents and the children, they return to speak to her as they look for forgiveness.
At this vertiginous period of her life, time seems to fly by more quickly, Anna must take the time to reflect and to face her past, in order to try to project herself in the future… And to still believe in love?
