Lucky You
Change your game. Change your life.
In the world of high-stakes Las Vegas poker, Huck Cheever (Eric Bana) is a blaster - a player who goes all out, all the time. But in his personal relationships, Huck plays it tight, expertly avoiding emotional commitments and long-term expectations.
When Huck sets out to win the main event of the 2003 World Series of Poker - and the affections of Billie Offer (Drew Barrymore), a young singer from Bakersfield - there is one significant obstacle in his path: his father, L.C. Cheever (Robert Duvall), the poker legend who abandoned Huck's mother years ago. As these two rivals progress toward a final showdown at the poker table, Huck learns that to win in the games of life and poker, he must try to play cards the way he has been living his life and live his life the way he has been playing cards.

I was quite disappointed with this movie. The promotional tag line says, "Change your game. Change your life," but nothing changed by the end of the movie. The story had no substance and nothing was different by the end.
It's too bad because I love Eric Bana and I've grown to appreciate Drew Barrymore over time (Ever After changed my opinion of her quite dramatically, actually).
I think they really missed with this movie. Watch it if you want, but don't say I didn't warn you!Even poker fans won't be able to make it through this borefest - sinic
I thought it would be a nice compromise for a Saturday night with my wife. She gets the love story and I get the poker side story ... the movie fails to deliver on both fronts.
This movie is boring and the acting completely uninspired. Here is a classic attempt to try and cash in on the hot property of the moment (ie Poker) and the result is a movie that looks like no effort was ever made to make it even remotely good.
Skip this movie ... you probably won't be able to get tall the way through it anywaydueces are not so wild - flyz
Drew Barrymore once again plays an admirable romatic role but I just don't think this one makes much of a connection, at least not with me it didn't. If ya like watching those poker shows on the tube you'll like the action in this show otherwise it'll put a to sleep. The relationship the two are trying to build well just seems a bit "short stacked". Give it a watch if ya got nothing better todo.
