Revenge (Unrated Director's Cut)
This edition of the film is 24 minutes shorter than the original theatrical release.
Kevin Costner plays Michael Cochran, a retired naval pilot who leaves the service for a life of adventure in Mexico. While visiting his old friend Tibby Mendez (Anthony Quinn), a searing passion ignites between Cochran and Tibby's sultry young wife, Mireya (Madeleine Stowe).
Giving in to their desire means an incredible risk. Mendez isn't just a trusted friend, but a powerful mob boss who rules his world...and everyone in it. When the torrid affair is discovered, passion, jealousy, rage and honor clash, leaving the young lovers brutalized and clinging to life.
This exciting and acclaimed director Tony Scott (Top Gun, Man on Fire) heats up the screen as it draws us deeper and deeper into one man's journey to find the love he lost - and to exact revenge at any cost.

This is an excellent movie and so well done it is an instant classic. Kevin Costner is brilliant in his role as is Madeline Stowe her mexican accent comes and goes but she plays her role to a T. This movie is fast paced and brutal at times but it keeps you glued to your screen and you don't want to miss a second. Anthony Quinn is very good as the jilted ganster husband and his intolerence for the affair is portrayed perfectly.Rescuing the Princess - dee4
I think this movie is an overlooked gem, while it far from brilliant it does pose some compelling questions gorgeously presented by Tony Scott.
The film deals with desire and the perils of not denying ourselves this desire. So under all the liberal violence is a conservative morality tale; not unlike the classic western films.
I think what made this film less then great were the characters were less than likable-a Philandering pilot that sleeps with his best friends wife- The best friend is the Don of Mexico and a ruthless killer- The wife comes across as a promiscuous gold digger.
While films like Godfather, Goodfellas and Unforgiven can elicit empathy for bad people. Revenge's merry band of psychopaths never really seduced me into wanting to take a ride in their skin.good viewing - leeloo
I've always has a sweet spot for Kevin. I think he acts best as the 'strong silent type'. He accomplishes this and more in this flick. His love interst w/ Maedline has fantastic tension. I've seen this movie 3 or 4 times since it first came out. Would definately see it again.
