As bad as it is, it is watchable. - SStones
The story is poor. Not only does it lack any realism, but it doesn't try to explain, through character dialogue, why the viewer might choose to suspend disbelief at each laughable moment. I am a John Cusack fan, I could get past the unbelievability of Grosse Point Blank, by just appreciating the balance of humour, story and acting. This is not so easy in The Contract.
Do stick with it through the end, though, if you choose to see for yourself. At least the end is an interesting wrap-up of what has passed for the story.ending will make/break it for you - vfxguy
The ending of the film is interesting because it isn't as ordinary as the rest of the film. It says more about the characters than anything else in the film, and it shows that the characters have changed in ways that you might not have even anticipated.
I wish I had interesting characters for the entire 90 minutes rather than the last 15.
I'm sure there are some who will hate the ending, but I say it's far more plausible than most of the rest of the film.Very weak plot - Danimal
Not a plausible story at all. Some dramatic moments but the overall plot was weak, predictable and at times laughable. The ending was a complete sellout and we saw it coming a mile away. Don't waste your time with this one. I love both of these actors but couldn't help feeling that they must have both had a rough year to agree to sign on to this project.
