Illegal Tender
Always Protect the Family
Wilson De Leon, Jr. (Rick Gonzalez) is an exceptional college student with an adoring girlfriend, doting mother and a future full of promise. He has never wanted for anything, and he has never been forced to stand his ground. But when ghosts from his mother's past come back to haunt his present, he must defend his family... and quickly turn into the strong man his father prayed he'd become.
Nothing could stop Wilson's mother, Millie (Wanda De Jesus), from protecting her two boys. Forced to flee her home after gangsters killed her husband, she made an oath to give her children only the best. But all that changes when an enemy from the past catches up with them. It's finally time to take action - and now, they're done running.
Weapons at the ready, Wilson, Jr. and Millie prepare for a final showdown with the murderer who robbed him of a father and her of a husband. Now, in a battle fueled by family ties and blood feuds, it will become very clear what happens when anyone tries to come between this son and his mother.

I'm not sure what prompted me to get this movie in the first place. Probably the Hustle&Flow promo on the cover and write-ups.
It's your typical, cliche latino drama. This is when reviewers tend to say I want my 100 something minutes back and are pretty speechless to say anything.I Didn't Love It! - Jeefster
And I'll try to properly print and enunciate my write-up!
The movie was so phony that it just didn't do it for me. The scenes where there's been 2 seasoned hitmen sent out to take out the family, and the boy who's never shot a gun before in his life manages to do one of them in and send the other running just doesn't seem even remotely real. And that's not the only scene to overly stretch your credibility, there's half a dozen of these. The acting is just barely OK, some of the dialogue is horrific, the actors spewing out their lines in wooden fashion. There's also numerous chances for there to be some sexually charged scenes (sex sells!) but they just fall short of delivering the goods. Almost to the point of becoming a PG17 rated movie. Oh, wait! This IS a PG17 movie!
Nothing new or original here, the plot was so predictable that you know the whole family is going to come out of it alive and unharmed, with the bad guys, who've managed to still be alive after 21 years of drugdealing and crime, to be taken out by some rookie kid with his new pistol and endless determination. WOW! Like, totally realistic! Man!
NOT!
Oh, and if I've spoiled the ending for you, then maybe it might be an indicator that I think you shouldn't even bother to rent and watch this shlock. Keep moving! Nothing to see here!I LOVED IT! - MissKalunji
Wilson DeLeon Sr. A Drug Dealer. He loves his wife to death (who's played By The Same Lady Dr Sylvia Lopez who Played in Spider Man 3). One night he leaves his wife pregnant home to go deal with some business and he gets double crossed and dies the same night his Son is born. They come after her right after luckily for her someone warns her and she runs away. 21 years later, Wilson Jr got everything going on, The Charger hooked up, University, A Cute girlfriend (who played in X-Men 3 as Callisto) but Javier Cordero still ain't forget about her and Still trying to hunt her down. Every so often she has to leave and find somewhere else. But one day Wilson Deleon Jr will take matters in his hand. No more running. He will have to become half of the man his father was to get his family out. If i didn't know better I'de say the movie was a Chrysler and Dodge Advertisement with the Charger and the 300.
The Movie was wicked. It came out to be completely different then i expected. It isn't the typical Puerto Rican drug dealing Movie. This one had a whole different meaning behind. The actors performed very well. The movie kept me in suspense until the end. You love action and Suspense? This is the movie to watch. It kept me on my toes til the very last 5 minutes. I didn't expect it to turn out and end that way either. I wish i could talk more about it but if i do i'll sell the movie out. The Soundtrack was Wicked too. They Even Played Welcome To Jamrock. It gives a different meaning to Revenge. One thing tho is the movie feels like a whole Dodge and Chrysler advertisement. It's scary how certain action can cause you to hold a grudge for 21 years.
