The idea of getting the real behind the scenes story on movie making should be much more enlightening and interesting. George Clooney and Morgan Freeman are entertaining and seem to be truthful enough, but mostly tired cliches and the same answers from all the directors. Expected much more details of the movie making process and the inside goings on of movies ie. actor squabbles/who showed up late on set or not at all. It didn't even clarify the bombs but emphasized the blockbusters. It seemed to just be an infomercial for some blockbusters of the past. (Heavy emphasis on Spielberg flicks)Fun...but too short! - Cricri7
This documentary made by HBO is about movies...they interview actors, filmakers and studio executives about the hits and misses of Hollywood. They did a great casting with the interviewees. George Clooney, Danny Devito, Penny Marshall, Sherry Lansing and Morgan Freeman just to name a few, and they all give great interviews! Clooney is always self-deprecating and funny and knowledgeable about his craft...that always makes a great interview! You also get Richard Dreyfuss saying that he thought that Jaws would tank! Zip it but you will end up feeling robbed that it was too short.Good clips, average movie - eoguy
Aside from a few nice and juicy moments for movie nerds (like Morgan Freeman being honest about what's wrong with 'Bonfire of the Vanities'), there's not a lot here to warrant queueing this. There's nothing wrong with it--it's entertaining enough--but most of it plays like a self-serving DVD bonus feature. The interviews get redundant, and aside from the aforementioned juicy nugget, there's no information a half-informed culturally-aware intelligent person didn't already know or wasn't capable of supposing.
