Opposites Attract
All's Fair in Love... and Politics.
This hilarious satire features Barbara Eden and John Forsythe as two political opponents who lose their hearts over winning an election.
Ronald Reagan, Clint Eastwood, and Arnold Schwarzenegger: in California celebrity and politics are one and the same. And so it is in Crescent Bay where former cowboy movie star Rex Roper (John Forsythe) decides to campaign for Mayor. He hopes that if he wins the election he will be able to install his hot tub, a plan that the Town Supervisor Charlene McKeon (Barbara Eden) had previously nixed due to the area's water shortage. Charlene is running for Mayor, too, pitting her solid reputation, vigilant community membership and homespun values against Rex's popularity, megabucks and media savvy. Before the votes are in, though, Rex and Charlene have created their own political scandal when the two opponents find themselves falling in love. It's politics - California style.
