We love Elvis and visited Graceland in 2008, but we didn't love this movie. We found the acting really over the top and cheesy, and there wasn't a very good flow to it. I think I would have liked reading an Elvis biography better. We only watched the first half - we didn't want to spend time on the second part.Great for Elvis Fans - DebraW
Jonathan Rhys Meyers of The Tudors shows his versatility in this very credible performance as The King of Rock & Roll. Randy Quaid as the Colonel and Camryn Manheim as his mother, were also great, although his mother was portrayed as a little too whiney. All in all, I would recommend this to any Elvis fans and anyone who would like to know more about him.Well put together... - AmbRon
I am an avid Elvis Presley fan and am usually pretty Leary of things like this, I find they put Elvis in a "god like" state of being. This series however is different. They have really tried to show Elvis as not only an amazing talent but just an average man as well. It did cut out many important parts of his life, and skimmed over some others really quickly but all in all it was superb! Johnathan Ryes Myers does an awesome job imitating Elvis and obviously took the time to research him before taking on this role.
