The Brave One
How many wrongs to make it right?
"Why don’t they stop me?" Erica Bain wonders. Bain, a popular N.Y. radio host, watched her fiancé die and nearly lost her own life to a vicious, random attack. Now she discovers a stranger within herself, an armed wanderer in the urban night, out for vengeance and at war with her own soul. Two-time Academy Award winner Jodie Foster, as Erica, joins Oscar nominee Terrence Howard, as a determined cop hot on her trail. Erica’s future is uncertain, but one thing is not: The Brave One is a high-tension thriller that packs a visceral and emotional punch.

With Jodie Foster playing the lead role, I expected a lot more out of this movie. The performances were good enough, but the story was totally unbelieveable. Too many coincidences and too many convenient plots twists to move the story along. And the ending went right where you thought it was going from the moment the movie started. I thought this could have been an interesting cult type movie, but it didn't even do that. I was disapointed.ok movie - JOE52
I think that the brave one was an average movie. It was not a great script or great acting but the two main actors brought an ok quote to the movie.
C'est un film ou il n'y a pas beaucoup d'action mais L'intensité est très présente. Je le recommande aux adultes.Entertaining Premise - phorseuM
I found this movie to be entertaining. However, it had several weaknesses, one of which I would like to mention. Terrence Howard and Jodie Foster had excellent chemistry. This would be great except for the fact that I found the Foster-Howard relationship to be more believable and heart-felt than the one that supposedly existed between Foster and her ill-fated fiancé. Another thing that I disliked about the film is how is established Foster's love for her fiancé through lurid love scenes without establishing any connection beyond the physical. That is to say, the movie established that the couple had great sex, but it didn't establish the passionate, "deep" love that, in my view, would provoke one to vigilantism. I could be nit-picking, because there are some things I really liked about this movie, for one, the mood was consistent and the acting good. I would recommend this title for those looking for an entertaining feature, but don't expect anything that thrilling or original.
