Scenes of a Sexual Nature
Seven couples. Seven stories. One common ground.
Sex and love. Some seek it, some need it, some spurn it and some pay for it, but we're all involved in it. Set on one afternoon on Hampstead Heath, London, the film is a comedic and erotically charged look at what makes us tick, and it seems that what makes us tick is complex, dark and ludicrously funny.

Scenes of a Sexual Nature - AppsScraps
This cute British film was a bit of a flash in the pan but is worth a look. Directed by Ed Blum it follows scenes of a sexual nature among seven couple lounging on Hampstead Heath in London one sunny afternoon. The stories are hit and miss but there are a couple gems worth renting the film for. In particular the story of Iris (the fabulous Eileen Aktins) and Eddie (Benjamin Withrow), widowed seniors who cross paths on a bench in the park is truly heart-warming, if far-fetched, and Noel (Tom Hardy) and Anna (Sophie Okonedo) as an over-the-top couple - one just dumped; the other very horny. Amid the stories there lurks every manor of sexual truth and innuendo. The film fails in that it is simply too British; witty yes, but too British with the couples endlessly talking about sex rather than getting it on. It is all very droll and could have been better titled 'Endless Scenes of Seven Couples Talking A Lot'.
My rating 5 out of 10.Not for Everyone - hotdog
There are several stories told at once in this movie, each of them involving different groups of people in the same park.
The movie is not your traditional happily-ever-after movie template, but more of a "that's life" format. Each story is very light, with not many highs or lows. I consider it a pensive piece, not a comedy.
Ewan McGregor gets top billing in the movie but only plays a very minor part.Great little movie - Magdalene
I really liked this little movie that ties together 7 stories of couples out for an afternoon in Hampstead Heath. And later, I was astonished to learn that it was made for a few hundred thousand $$. It has the look and feel of a normal studio-financed movie, but with a really interesting script. The characters are all well developed, which is amazing, as we see each for less than 10 minutes. The cast is absolutely fantastic and they infuse their roles with layers of meaning that are unexpected.
I thought Ewan McGregor was particularly good in probably one of the most alluring roles I've seen him in. He just glowed with charm and conveyed a hunger for family that was suprisingly sweet and authentic for the character.
This one is well worth your time! Enjoy!!
