A Dog's Breakfast
Man's best friend makes the worst accomplice.
When Marilyn (Kate Hewlett), a successful make-up artist for a hit TV series, brings home the show's star, Ryan (Paul McGillion), to announce their engagement, it catapults her already obsessive brother Patrick (David Hewlett) over the edge. And when Patrick learns that Ryan is out to murder his sister, he plots to give the actor the axe or something sharper. But Patrick bungles the perfect crime, things spin out of control, and soon, the family¹s sanity has gone to the dogs.

Wow, what a great movie. Quirky, funny, and with a nice twist at the end. Though the actors may be familiar faces if you've seen Stargate Atlantis, rest assured that this gem is not simply them rehashing those roles. A definite rental if you're a fan of dark comedy! An unexpected delight - Myriad69
Moderately dark, but hugely hilarious, A Dog's Breakfast is an utter gem of a movie. Brother and sister in real life, it's no wonder David and Kate Hewlett have perfect sibling chemistry. David and his Stargate Atlantis co-star Paul McGillion are also fantastic to watch as they show what a great comic team they can be. The character development was rich and impressive considering that they could easily have been played as caricatures. Instead, the characters were clever and remarkably believable.
This lovely little movie is filled with twists and turns, some expected, some not, and zips along to a very satisfying conclusion.
I've seen it referred to as a horror movie, but not even close! A dark comedy, yes, and a terrific one.Loved it! - Sweeney
One of the funniest movies I've seen in long time. Just about sprayed my drink several times while watching this, and had to rewind to catch things I missed while laughing so hard.
David Hewlett really cuts loose here, unlike the more restrained 'Dr. Rodney McKay' you see on Stargate Atlantis.
