I expected a little more from this movie with the cast they had. On the up side I thought Kim Bassinger did a great job in her role. I love stories that tie together in the end, which this one did, but with the cast and potential story line I thought it could have been better. Not sure if the budget was too small or something was just missing. But it's nice to see the bailiff from Night Court is still doing something!difficult to describe how bad this is - vfxguy
I have to agree with the Gary3 review: wow. Can probably count the number of times I walked away from a film on my hand, and usually I walked away because the message offended me at some very deep level. I walked away from this because it was a bad film.
I also say this as a disclaimer - it may very well be that 45 minutes was a turning point in the film. It could very well have a brilliant ending, but I just can't imagine that from what I saw. When they were still introducing main characters at 25 minutes, it started running on borrowed time for me.
In the first two minutes, I was bored, because the voice over droned on pointlessly for too long. Cameras go back and forth (and again) between characters too many times for no reason. I could go on, but watching the film might be quicker than describing everything wrong with it.
Let me try to say something positive: Kelsey Grammar was very interesting. I have to assume they stuck a prosthetic on his nose. And the bad guy was interesting in a Kingsley-Sexy-Beast or Ledger-Dark-Knight kind of way. But they both still suffered from bad writing.
It's painful to watch such great actors forced to deliver such terrible lines. Really. And when people play blackjack, sometimes the cards total something other than 21 or 22.Hmmm - Gary3
Lots of good performances by some very good actors in a poorly written and directed movie. This movie is predictable and feeble in it's story telling. Just pass this one by. All these actors have made amazing films in the past. I can't understand why they signed on to this project.
