End of Summer
A Showtime Original Movie
A summer romance and scandal rocks the elite world of the upper class in this sumptuous turn-of-the-century drama. Jacqueline Bisset (Venice, Wild Orchid), stars as Christine Van Buren, a beautiful spinster summering at a posh seaside resort.
Once there, a seductive young woman (Amy Locane, Carried Away), a dashing millionaire (Peter Weller, Screamers, Robocop), and a handsome, social climbing minister (Julian Sands, Leaving Las Vegas, A Room With a View) set the stage for a collision of temptation and unrequited love that will bring an era of innocence to its final, dramatic end.

Good period piece - whp123
This movie is a story of unrequited love of a spinister (Jacqueline Bisset's character) for a rich millionaire (Peter Weller). The story is pretty simple. Bone head man falls for younger woman without noticing that his true love is in the vincity waiting for him to come to his senses. Eventually the two meant to be loves declare their love for one another.
Still I liked this movie because it gives a good depiction of the US in the 1900s when it was a young idealistic country instead of the (JMO: cynical, debt ridden, amoral country that it is today).
