The Seeker: The Dark is Rising
Will Stanton (Alexander Ludwig) learns he is the last of a group of warriors who have dedicated their lives to fighting the forces of the Dark. Traveling back and forth through time, young Will discovers a series of clues which lead him into a showdown with the forces of unimaginable power. My observations about this movie:
- dialogue driven
- inexpensive special effects
- decent action
- lots of scenes showing the lush landscape and forests
- danger and intrigue around every corner.
- solid action
- excellent acting
- the main character must make difficult choices, to decide if he wants to do the right thing or the easy thing, much like we all do in real life all the time.Not like the book - Kifness
If you are a fan of the series (like I am - read the books in my teens and reread them in my early twenties), I wouldn't rent this movie, as it's set in modern times (so not at all like the books in this way), follows the story loosely (and I mean really loosely) - didn't he have a younger jealous brother? and doesn't have a real common thread that keeps it all together. I hope they don't make a sequel!Seeking a Better Movie - movie_goer

I'm sure this is yet another childerns Book reprised through the Big screen. Comparitively simalar Fictional theme to Harry Potter and Narnia Movies. It lacks a even pace while struggling to find the approperiate mood when touching delicate situations.
