Dan in Real Life
Something's happening to Dan. It's confusing. it's awkward. It's family.
Love strikes in the worst possible circumstances for widower, single dad and popular family advice columnist Dan Burns (Steve Carell) when he falls for a beautiful stranger (Juliette Binoche) in a bookshop -- only to discover she’s the very same woman his charismatic brother (Dane Cook) is about to introduce as his incredible new girlfriend at their parents’ annual get-together. As the weekend gets underway, Dan and Marie scramble to hide their mutual attraction to each other, resulting in a series of hilariously awkward situations. Yet, even under those circumstances, they can’t help falling in love. Now, Dan is about to realize that -- no matter how many good suggestions he might have for other people -- when it comes to romance and family, the hardest advice for a man to follow is his own.

I think this is one of Steve Carell's best movies. The title is perfect. His character, and the other characters in the movie are very real. This movie will make you sad one minute and have you laughing the next. It is a great movie to watch with your family or loved one.Beautiful in its Simplicity - CheeryCherry
The title of this movie is absolutely perfect. There is a very 'real' quality to it. If you belong to a crazy, loud, open concept family then you will totally relate to this. There is once scene where mom and dad are trying to have a heart to heart with Dan in the laundry room and slowly the whole family ends up joining them... all offering their two cents. It really made me smile. It's wholesome and comes from the heart. Character development is well done and I can't see how you wouldn't enjoy the 'realness'.Steve Carrel at his best. - moviegenius
This was an excellent movie. It was funny, sad, sweet and romantic. I really enjoyed this movie because not only was Steve Carrel hysterical, he was also being serious. Here's the good part. He was good at it! So, I think that this is a movie that you should see at once.
