This film, directed by Luke and Andrew Wilson, is a long winded, unwatchable mess of a film. No matter how much you like the Wilson brothers (Owen is in the film too), it's not worth your time. The film tries way to hard to be a quirky indy film but the result is just an overacted overwritten mess. Skip this one.
p.s.
Owen Wilson's latest role, in Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris, is definitely worth a watch!Cagey performances, rusty and Intermittently stupid - aj79
The main issue with the film is that there just isn't much of a story and when accompanied by a cast who don't really seem to be all that committed to the film and a script that isn't all that funny (although it's supposed to be), it just falls flat. The first third of the film is reasonable, because the pace is fast, showing Wendell's life up to the point that he is released. Apart from the odd flash of humour, this film left me completely flat. As far as I'm concerned, the only reason to watch it is if you're a huge fan of the Wilson brothers or one of the other actors. The Wilsons must have some talent, or they wouldn't be where they are now, but it is hard to see exactly what it is from this film. Luke and Owen are dull and it feels as though Andrew just couldn't be bothered with the direction. This is really only a film to watch if it's three o'clock in the morning and you've really nothing else to do. Not recommended.
