Enchanted
The real world and the animated world collide.
Beautiful princess Giselle (Amy Adams) is banished by an evil queen (Susan Sarandon) from her magical, musical, animated land and finds herself in the gritty reality of the streets of modern day Manhattan.
Shocked by this strange new environment that doesn't operate on a "happily ever after" basis, Giselle is now adrift in a chaotic world badly in need of enchantment. But when Giselle begins to fall in love with a charmingly flawed divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) who has come to her aid - even though she is already promised to a perfect fairy tale prince (James Marsden) back home - she has to wonder: can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?

To see new 2D Disney Animation on the big screen after 4 yrs (even though just for 10 mins) was reward enough for me.
The fact the move turned out more than a fluffly chick flick was just icing on the cake.
Enchanted ups Shrek and proves that no one...(read more) can put a spin on all things "Disney" better than well, Disney.
Amy Adams is completely believable as a fish out of water as a cartoon princess in the "REAL" world.
Disney veteran and genius, composer Alan Menken does an amazing job with some instantly hum able songs which tell the story and spoof the Disney dominated musical genre.
The movies pays tributes to a whole cannon of Disney films in many obvious and many unexpected ways.
From reconstructing EXACT camera moves and compositions from key moments in Disney animation, to a restaurant named "Bella Note" and appearance of Jodi Benson (voice of Ariel), to name just a few.
And none of them appear at the cost of story telling. Most times u wont notice them, and when u do, its just adds to the humor and the cheese factor(hence more humor).
I noticed quite a few references in my first viewing, but i am Disney geek..so i wont get into all of them.
All in all,its not a AWESOME movie, but its GOOD.I ended up walking out of the theater with a grin on my face, which isn't bad!
I liked the design of the end credits and also the Storybook in the castle opening! "Enchanting", would be the best way to sum up this piece of cotton candy.Such fun! And we don't have kids! - Impatient
Song, dance, naivete, puffy costumes, large group tableaus...this has everything that an animated movie should. Except it's mostly live-action.
Amy Adams does great. She has that innocent, wide-eyed look that is perpetually confused and looking for rescue. Susan Sarandon is a great vamp, but you don't get to see much of her (darn!)
This is one of those movies that will become a guilty pleasure. You're not supposed to like it but you'll at least find it entertaining. Because it's aimed at families, it doesn't have a lot of down time. I actually watched it twice to pick up on all the other Disney references. (Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White...) There are EVERYWHERE in this movie. Perfect rainy weekend movie. Even Hubby found it amusing. Is it a little childish? Maybe. Is it fun? Yes. Since it does have some cheese to it, I can't give it 4 stars, but it does get the respectable 3.A Positive, Well-Written Disney Musical - TorontoComposer
One of the best music-theatre numbers on film is the song "How Will You Know". This is truly up there with "I got rhythm" from American in Paris and "Smooth Criminal" from the late great Michael Jackson. A lot of the movie is fun and it is a great date flic. My wife loves it and we ended up buying a copy. It looks and sounds wonderful in blu-ray.
