This seeming light little documentary on a subject I have little interest in sucked me right in within 10 minutes and held me rapt for the entire length. It is a testimony to the skills of the director and editors that they managed to make such a silly subject into a great character study, with lots of humour and some insights into what drives people like the main characters to become obsessed with what most would consider a child's game. Highly recommended.A Fistful of Fun! - Goose91
It is truly refreshing to watch a documentary that is not based on war, genocide or some form of human suffering. The thought of watching 90 minutes of a battle for Donkey Kong supremacy may seem absurd, but these geeky cyber-nerds turn out to be quite endearing, and in the end, you're wrapped up in the action as if it were a professional sports event.
This fun, clever documentary belongs along the likes of "Spellbound" (National Spelling Bee) and "Wordplay" (New York Times Crossword,) for pure fun. It's harmless, humorous, engaging footage of interesting - and sometimes odd - people, passionately pursuing excellence in their unique pastime.A hit!!! - betbjork
A documentary about the high score on Donkey Kong. Yes the idea sounds silly and you think of a bunch of geeks in an arcade and that is exactly what you get. . .except you become emotionally involved with the two main characters.
One is kind of a egotistical jerk who is financially successful. The other is a regular joe who wanted to make a name for himself at something.
It is classic david vs. goliath with an ending you will not soon forget.
This is one of the best documentaties I have seen is quite some time.
