Not that I should be surprised by what I thought of this movie, as it seemed like a bit of a stretch to base an entire plot on this premise, but I still thought it might be better than it was. They even had to stretch the movie out by having the lead character run around the hospital in some sort of tele-kinetic way just to add more suspense to the plot. It all seemed like a bit of a stretch to me.Surprisingly Good - kav2001c
I personally wondered how they could take a 1 trick pony (the theory that some people could be awake during an operation) and stretching i out into a feature length film. Everyone involved in this film did really good with the limited material provided, and the movie is potentially beleivable.
Hayden plays Clay, a young hot shot who has taken over his fathers investment company. Clay cant really remember much of his childhood, beyond the traumatic Christmas Eve when his father passed away. He meets Sam (Alba) and instantly falls for her. The two sneak off and get married despite the mothers wishes (as Alba is definately not in the same class as the family). The mother seems to know more than she lets on...
Clay also decides to use a local doctor for his heart transplant, as Dr Harper once saved his life.
All the clues to the hidden plot are in plain site, but watch this film anyways as the reveal is well done. Not THAT bad - dural78
I was a little surprised to see the number of negative reviews out for this movie. While it does defy logic and anatomical limitations, it's certainly not the first to do so.
The movie plows away at a quick pace. Without giving too much away, everything appears in it's right place until there's a plot twist towards the end. Everything gets turned upside down, and protagonists become antagonists, and vice versa.
In my opinion, the casting of Hayden Christensen as the lead character seems to expose his acting deficiencies. It seems as if he only plays one character in many of his movies, and it seems out of place here.
Overall the movies was well written, and enjoyable.
