Oustanding performance - fbang
I actually rented this movie after seeing Marion Cotillard in Christopher Nolan's Inception, (which contains Edith Piaf's "Non je ne regrette rien" as a gimmick to kick back the dreamers back to reality.)
I didn't really like the movie "La Vie En Rose" itself. I thought it was pretty average, but Cotillard absolutely deserves her oscar. She employs all the mimickery of Piaf, without looking like a caricature.
Seeing her perform (or lipsync, I guess) "Non Je ne regrette Rien" is worth the price of the ticket alone.A disappointment - Freespace
Not the movie I expected at all. The dialogue was difficult to follow in the original French version. Also found it difficult to empathize with the main character. And actual not a big fan of this type of music. It made it therefore quite difficult to enjoy the film.
