Mad Money
They're having the crime of their lives...
Bridget Cardigan (Diane Keaton) is shocked to learn that she is on the verge of losing her home and comfortable upper middle class lifestyle when her husband Don (Ted Danson) is downsized from his job. Armed only with a decades old English degree and years as a dedicated mother and corporate wife, Bridget is forced into the unfamiliar labor market with no job skills. Finally, she accepts the only position she can find--janitor at the Federal Reserve Bank.
The one-time suburban mom soon discovers she has more in common with her new co-workers than she thought. Bridget forges an unexpected bond with Nina (Queen Latifah), a hard-working single mom with two kids to raise, and Jackie (Katie Holmes), an exuberant free spirit with nothing to lose. Caught up in a system that underestimates their talents and keeps their dreams just out of reach, Bridget, Nina and Jackie set out to even the score.
After a lifetime of playing by the rules, the three devise a plan to smuggle soon-to-be destroyed currency out of the supposedly airtight Reserve. As the unlikely crime syndicate amasses piles of cash, it looks like they have pulled off the perfect crime - until a minor misstep alerts the authorities. With more money than they know what to do with, the women are pushed to the limits of their ingenuity to stay one step ahead of the law!

Not a terrible movie, however, the blatent disregard for realistic consequences leaves you feeling like the movie is unfinished. Though it is a comedy and not meant to be taken seriously, I left the couch feeling as though I had 'dulled the edge' of my moral knife. Theft is theft, and no matter how it's pictured it shouldn't be glorified - a decent laugh, but not sure it was worth the expense of time. Do not watch this with children or you'll have thoroughly confused them. A definate conversation starter but once the movie finishes and all works out for the crooks - it leaves a real hole in the real life truth that 'crime has consequences'. Not easily explained to children. I felt I was generous in giving it a 1 star rating.Mad Money - snowkween
Wasnt expecting much but was a pleasant surprise. Reminded my of same cutesy funny as first wives club.Overall was good watch for chick feel good kind of movie without all the emotional drama.I wouldnt rush to but the movie but its ok for girl night.MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED... - Ricardo
given that I had heard and read horrible reviews about the movie. First of all, keep in mind this is a comedy, not a "thriller" in which to make things real, they have to be difficult. Of course stealing millions of dollars from the Federal Reserve Bank would never be that easy, but it worked for the movie. The characters are well developed, the script is not a work of art but it's not bad, and the acting is not bad at all.
Overall, I think I would have to say I enjoyed it and I would recommend it
