30 Days of Night
Based on the Graphic Novel
Josh Harnett (Black Dahlia, Pearl Harbor) crosses over to the dark side in this bone-chilling adaptation of the cult-hit graphic novel, brought to the screen in all its demonic glory. In a small Alaskan town, thirty days of night is a natural phenomenon. Very few outsiders visit, until a band of bloodthirsty, deathly pale vampires mark their arrival by savagely attacking sled dogs. But soon they find there are much more satisfying thirst-quenchers about: human beings. One by one, the townspeople succumb to a living nightmare, but a small group survives at least for now. The vampires use the dark to their advantage, and surviving this cold hell is a game of cat and mouse and screams.

A simple, occasionally clever, rehash of plot devices taken from every zombie and vampire movie ever made and all played out in a setting borrowed right from Carpenter’s “The Thing”. Slade adds nothing new to the mythos but he bombards the screen with so much razzle-dazzle that you could almost mistake it for something fresh. From the giddy camerawork to the well-choreographed action sequences this is one of the more entertaining no-brainers I’ve seen in some time. I'm definitely renting the sequel.Great Horror Film - grantalias
With all the vampire films of late I was surprised to find one that took an original slant to the genre.
While there are some (in my mind) weak plot points, overall the film really kept my on the edge of my seat and a constant sense of fear.

This scared the crap out of me! I could never really relax during this movie (which is a good thing!). The darkness, the vampires, the blood! It was all fantastic! I couldn't sleep after watching it. I highly recommend this film to anyone who loves to be scared!!!!
