Animal enthusiast Peter Gaulke (Steve Zahn) and his sidekick Fred Wolf (Allen Covert) host the ailing wildlife TV show Strange Wilderness, which is in a steep ratings decline. Desperate to save the show, Peter hatches a Hail Mary scheme to find the one animal that could truly turn the show around and change the nature show landscape forever - Bigfoot.

I really wanted to like this movie. But the jokes fall flat, the script is weak, the acting is lazy, and the ending feels really unfinished. The best scenes are the "fake" documentary voice overs, but they are too far and few between. Instead the characters spend most of their time getting wasted and chasing down the legendary Big Foot! Not what I was expecting at all...Why don't other people think this is funny? - boatgirl
Perhaps I have an infantile sense of humour. I don't like Paul Blart: Mall Cop, can't stand Woody Allen films and I do love Wes Anderson movies. I say all that to tell you that this movie makes me laugh.
If you're looking for high brow comedy, don't search for it here. This is often dirty, crude humour that's in poor taste but it's also slapstick, pot humour with a Sasquatch thrown in to boot. There's even some Lorne Greene-esque memories with some old school wildlife footage. Plus, who doesn't love Ernest Borgnine?A letdown - saint_angrrr
Normally, the happy-madison movies are my kind of comedy... this time they missed out though. The cast is full of actors who are normally very funny, and it is a story idea that should have left all kinds of room for hilarity. How they managed to screw this up so bad is beyond me.
The trailers for this movie really made it seem funny, but once I watched it I actually found it to be pretty boring. It relied far too heavily on marijuana jokes which get old fairly quickly.
The buck toothed shark scene still makes me roar with laughter, but apart from that this movie barely even got a chuckle out of me. Sorry guys, but I am going to have to recommend people to pass on this one.
