Not enough of the stage stuff! - Poet
Though it was definitely an interesting DVD to watch, I would have loved to see more of the on-stage stuff and a little less of the backstage material. It sure was cool to learn more about these comics and to see hoew they delt with this unique experience, but it would have been nice to see a little bit more of what they can do onstage.
That being said, I still enjoyed this particular title. The music was a good bonus and the Katrina material was quite moving. It's all about the journey - Redfox
This DVD is not just about 30 shows in 30 days. You get to see the comedians off stage, how the journey affects them. Especially liked when the gang started complaining about the little things and they go visit hurricane Katrina evacuees : talk about getting your ego put in check. It also hits you when they mentionned that one of the comics is still a waiter: he's given the possibility to do what he loves for 30 days.
You can't fake being funny and all stand up comics had to learn that. For those who don't give up on the dream and decide to make us laugh, thank you.Not What I Expected (in a good way) - jillmo
As a woman watching a movie with just guys in it apart from the female young things in the audience, this movie could have been a raunchy "watch the boys get drunk and argue on the road movie". It wasn't. It was a look at the backstage insecurities and onstage victories of 4 young comedians and the lovely Vaughn who leads the tour. It was funny, touching and insightful - not your usual stand-up comedy film.
