Really got into this movie - Steady
An interesting independent film about 3 characters with challenges in New York City. Rose lost her 2 year old son to an accident which is implied and she is dealing with that as well as separation from her husband. Heather Graham does a great job in the role of Rose.
Simon is a photographer with a penchant for stalking his subjects and mother issues.
Tommaso is an artist who is going blind.
How their lives interact makes for entertaining film making.

"Adrift in Manhattan" is the right title, with the emphasis on "adrift."
The five or so main characters are adrift in search of a plot. A story line. A decent script. Anything to save them from their misery.
Clearly the screenwriter watched too many episode of "Sex and the City." That's the only explanation I can think of to explain why the writer believes 30-something women in New York always are flattered by the attention of post-pubescent stalkers with cameras, and end up sleeping with them.
And the boy's mother is the stuff of anyone's nightmare. She's Marie Barone carried to a Freudian extreme.

about this movie. It's another attempt at doing the "quilt" movie where there are several different pieces that somehow form part of a big whole without really knowing they are. The acting is just okay, watching New York and how people are not the friendliest there is nothing new, and even if the movie has some good lines, they are by far too few to save it from being just mediocre and forgettable.
