College Road Trip
They can't get there fast enough.
Choosing which college to attend can be the most exciting and thrilling time of a young woman's life... unless your overprotective father isn't quite ready to let you go.
Melanie (Raven-Symoné) is eagerly looking forward to her first big step towards independence when she plans a "girls only" road trip to check out prospective universities. But when her overbearing police chief father (Martin Lawrence) insists on escorting her instead, she soon finds her dream trip has turned into a hilarious nightmare adventure full of comical misfortune and turmoil.

its one of those movies that doesnt promise to be more then you see. I cant speak much for the story as it was a basic story at most. Acting was pretty good for who was in the film the only thing i found was it dragged on at some points. for a family film its good for the whole familyGood family movie - Spacey
I was expecting more funny moments from this movie than what was in there. It seemed like the slapstick comedy was prevalent more than the actually funny or meaningful moments. The ending was great when she is actually going to college, but the events that happen in the last scene were too far fetched.
I think the acting was good by Lawrence, but it could have been better. Also, I was hoping that the girls in high school would have been portrayed in a better way than ditzy, superficial, girls with limited vocabularies. I'm not saying they need to carry around a thesaurus with them, but girls aren't the ends of the spectrum that this movie shows. There should have been more of a middle ground in this movie in many areas.Predictable, but funny - dural78
wasn't expecting much from this movie, but ended up liking it more that I thought I would. This PG role is a bit of a stretch for Martin Lawrence, but he does well. Lawrence some how ends up playing a cop in this movie, much like most of his other work.
Lawrence is an over protective father doing whatever he can to keep his daughter close to home after she finishes high school. The plot and jokes are predictable. You can see the gags coming from a mile away. Donnie Osmond steals the show with his annoying over the top energy and love for show tunes.
For what it is, College Road Trip is a decent comedy. Just don't go in expecting an epiphany.
