Suess on a grand scale - bartonfink
Loved this so much more than the Grinch adaptation a few years back. Probably my favourite Dr. Suess story as a kid and one of the best audio and visual presentations I've seen on Blu-ray. Really makes the surround system come alive with all manner of immersive effects. Steve Carrel is very well cast as the Mayor of Whoville and Jim Carrey is as fantastic as always. A gem for kids and adults.Wholarious! - TyTom
This movie was fantastic. Not only did it fulfill every childhood fantasy I had about this book, it fulfilled every adult fantasty.
What was with Katie!? I have no idea what SHE is, but she stole the show!
This was a clever production and had amazing voice acting. Stellar cast.
A truly enjoyable film. Zip it today!

The CGI film, "Horton Hears a Who" is the latest release from production company, "Blue Sky Studios" ... also responsible for the respectable, "Ice Age" series of computer animated features.
According to Wiki, the budget for this feature was $85 million -- and I'm happy to report it as money well spent!
Translating kids books -- with simple story lines, is a risky business (in a similar league to producing movies based on video games). The character of "Horton" is well developed ... and the movie is packed full of cute gags for the adults -- to keep things interesting.
The script is smart and philosophical and features animation which is gorgeous, abitious. The animation is at least at par with competitors, Dreamsworks and Pixar for the CGI effects title.
This is a movie is unique -- because it entertains people from ages 3 to 103. It's a good family film (and there are just not enough of them).
