I Really Hate My Job
I Really Hate My Job sizzles its way through one steamy night and the lives of five feisty women with
delusions of grandeur, who work in a London restaurant. Customers come and go, unaware of the real concerns of these women: a rat or two in the kitchen, bitter arguments about life and art, as well as a coup d’état in the kitchen… all overshadowed by the anticipation of the arrival of a famous Hollywood movie star. You might assume they’re just three waitresses, one cook and a dishwasher, but they see themselves as an artist, an actor, a lover, an author and a revolutionary.

This is a very average film that doesn’t go anywhere. The story revolves around the staff of a restaurant and one evening in their life. There are a few neuroses kicking around that never really get resolved. We are left much the way we started when the evening began.
The sound quality is terrible and coupled with some heavy accents; you’ll miss a lot of the dialogue. The movie would have benefited from subtitles.

This is a delightful and interesting independent film, shot within the confines of a small restaurant in the district of Soho, in London, England. It's a look at the varied and diverse lives of the staff - the manager, the bartender (Neve Campbell), the server, the cook and the dishwasher; all of whom happen to be women. As the film progresses, the viewers learns more about each of the women and their lives away from the restaurant.
A number of mini crises occur throughout the evening, which help propel the story along, including a late reservation made for actor Danny Huston and his party.
I found the movie to be quite a lot of fun, touching in a few spots and funny in many others. There are standout performances from both Neve Campbell and Oana Pellea.
This movie is not full of special effects, car chases, and other such events - this is a character piece. And quite a good one, at that.I really hated this movie. - tigirah
It wasn't Neve Campbell's starpower that attracted me to this movie, it was the promise of another entertaining, quirky movie about disgruntled employees, in the vein of 'Clockwatchers' and 'Office Space'. What I got was a lot of boring, endless dialogue (and often hard to understand because of the actor's strong accents), no plot advancements whatsoever, and badly-placed fantasy elements that may have worked in 'Amelie' but in this case just did not make any sense. This movie perpetrates the stereotypes of female direction and 'chickflicks', don't waste your time.
