Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Includes both the 118 minute Unrated version and the 111 minute Theatrical version.
Peter (Jason Segel) is a struggling musician who finds his world turned upside down when his TV celebrity girlfriend, Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell), dumps him for a tragically hip rock star. It's the hysterically funny look at how far one man will go to forget a girl - and all the fun he finds along the way!

I feel as though Apattow's movies are always funnier in theatre and then when watching them on my TV at home, when the shenanigans are no longer larger than life the literal sense, they seem to lose a lot of their lustre.
I hadn't seen this movie and I expected great things from it, especially since I'd hear a few good reviews from friends. I did laugh at some of the jokes - some of the blatant ones and some of the more subtle ones that you need to be paying attention for. But there were probably an equal number of jokes that just missed the mark or fell short. But of course, Russell Brand always reappears to save the day so all in all it was a good movie for a rainy friday night, even if it didn't bowl me over.Segel + Russell = good - snowbird
I saw this movie because Russell Brand was in it, but I found myself enjoying it because of Jason Segel. He does a great, genuine job in this film, and although Russell is very funny, Jason Segel was better. Kristin Bell plays an excellent ex-girlfriend, but nothing spectacular. The outcome is predictable but comfortable, and you leave it feeling redeemed and smiling about it. It's worth a watch.7 out of 10 - MrMoviePicker
They say comedy comes from a place of pain. Well, they nailed that in this story about a depressed man who, in an effort to overcome being dumped by his girlfriend, goes on a hilariously disastrous Hawaiian vacation.
The film is not entirely successful; some jokes failed me, however it hits often enough for me to unequivocally say that it is worth watching.
My score: 7 out of 10.
